PCT
Plateletcrit on a blood count, otherwise procalcitonin.

On a blood count, PCT is plateletcrit (the share of blood volume taken by platelets). Procalcitonin is a separate test used when severe bacterial infection is suspected.
| Plateletcrit | Procalcitonin | |
|---|---|---|
| Which test | Blood count (CBC) | Separate blood test |
| Unit | % (percent) | ng/mL |
| Used for | Platelet mass; rarely meaningful alone | Suspected sepsis and bacterial infection |
