MRI Report
Read the Impression section first.

A report has three parts: technique, findings, impression. Read the Impression first; a description of a finding is not a diagnosis.
| Term | Plain meaning |
|---|---|
| Hyperintense / hypointense | Brighter / darker on the image |
| Lesion | An area that looks different; does not say whether it is benign or not |
| Contrast enhancement | Injected dye collected in an area |
| Degenerative change | Wear that comes with age; not always linked to pain |
| Incidental | Found by chance, usually unimportant |
